The Importance of Email Marketing

Article written by the amazing Nina Tulio.

Did you know that the average open rate in an email marketing camping in the beauty industry is between 17-23%. That may not sound like a lot.

But when you consider that only 5-10% of your following see your posts on social media, it’s pretty huge. Seeing your guests once every 4- 6 weeks is great.

However, some guests will go 2-3 months in between their appointment, depending on the type of service they receive.  If there is one thing I learned along the way. It is to stay in front of your guests in between appointments.

Staying connected and staying in front of your guests when they are not in front of you is incredibly important. Communication is key, especially when they won’t see you for a month or two. I recommend sending out at least 1 campaign a month. However, 2 per month would be ideal.

Here are a few email campaign ideas.

  1. Promotions for the day, week, or month.

If you are offering a particular service that is on a special for the month. You definitely want your guests to know about it.

You have a few options in Schedulicity. You can use the promotions tab and add your service that is special. When clients schedule their online appointment this service will pop up as an option for them to add on before they complete their online booking.

This is a great way to add-on services to your ticket. You can also send out a custom email marketing campaign that describes your promotion in detail. Equipped with a book now button as a call to action so it creates a sense of urgency.

  2. Educational campaigns.

Sharing your knowledge with your audience is key. You can create a customized campaign to give your clients some tips throughout the month.

Maybe you want to share some tips on how to protect your skin during the summer months, maybe you want to give them some tips on how to relieve stress using essential oils during travel. It’s great to share these tips on a monthly basis for a few reasons.

    1. It positions you as an expert in your field.

    2. It shows your clients that you truly care about them and you are thinking about them in between appointments.

  3. Haven’t seen a client in a while?

Use the re-engagement tab in the email marketing campaign section in Schedulicity.

This is one of my favorites. Life is so busy for your clients. They may forget to schedule with you. Not to worry. You can create a nice little campaign to a specific group of clients.

This will give them a friendly reminder to schedule their next appointment. And, you can add a promotion in this email if you would like. How cool is that?

Email marketing campaigns are key in the growth of your business.

Here’s why. Remember how Instagram crashed a few months back?

Not only once but twice. Imagine what would happen if you lost all your connections on Instagram and Facebook. OMG!

But, if you have your email list of all your clients and connections in your campaign, you’re safe! Email campaigns are not a way of the past. They are truly a great way to drive revenue to your business and keep engaged with your guests while they are in between appointments.
