2 years ago, Alicia stumbled upon this amazing product, and had to get it out to the world! So she found a 3rd party app builder and began the process!
So.. what is SalonScale??
Alicia talks about how when you’re working with clients, mixing colors, and not knowing if you were making money because you had NO idea how much your product is actually costing! Alicia was frustrated because her salon was making more money, but her costs were also increasing.
And this is where the SalonScale was born!
SalonScale is an app that calculates the cost of your color IN. REAL. TIME. You can use this as a salon owner or stylist. That way.. you know exactly how much your color is costing you!! You measure everything on their scale, and it connects to your phone through bluetooth and tells you immediately how much your color is.
In the past, we have taught all of our Workshop in a Box students to do all of this by hand! But thank goodness for Alicia and SalonScale for solving all of our problems digitally so we don’t even need to think about it!
SalonScale today… there are almost 1,000 salons signed up for their product already!

Elizabeth asks Alicia: “What has the transition been like from a stylist and mom, to a CEO of a company?”
Alicia’s response: It comes down to one word. PURPOSE. It has been such an incredible journey.
2nd question: When you go through hard times and you have to lean on your purpose.. Where has that purpose come from?
Alicia: The purpose comes down to LEGACY. She wanted to provide something that stands the test of time, and can benefit the industry forever! She realized that she had to go through a lot of hurt and pain and heartbreak, she had to say some tough goodbyes, but also some amazing hellos. She had to learn technology, how to pitch products, learn economics, and logistics of companies, and all that hard work helped her grow and make everything worth it!
3rd question: Have you always been a big thinker, or where did that come from?
Alicia: Last year, she got into a tech accelerated program, which really opened up her mind for exploring larger markets. This made her think about growing even bigger than the salon industry, and then empowered her to make an even better product! It’s important to surround yourself with amazing people and lean in to those experiences and soak in everything you possibly can!

Top 3 words of advice:
It comes down to the 3 C’s. CONFIDENCE, COMMUNICATION, AND CONFLICT.
Some people get hung up on the conflict, but you need to look at it differently. If you can gain the confidence, the conflict will be the biggest positive in your life! You just have to learn how to communicate!
You need to gain confidence, you need to have clear communication to be successful, and then when a conflict arises you challenge yourself and prepare for a breakthrough!
