2:30 HOT SEAT

Elizabeth asks Mazie What is the weirdest things she has ever done.

Mazie’s response: Full on choreographed dance routine to “The Greatest Show” in the streets of Santorini, Greece. Yes there is actual footage of this!

Elizabeth thinks (and loves) that when she calls Mazie she ALWAYS answers. She will even FaceTime her in the shower- haha!

3:20 HOW DO YOU DO IT ALL? How do you balance life?

Elizabeth gets asked all the time how she could possibly do everything! Her answer? You DON’T do it all. It’s important to learn how to delegate!! Get a team- She has a salon team, business team, nanny, housekeeper. Sometimes it takes a village to get everything done!

You can’t afford to NOT be productive. Especially if you have a small team it’s crucial to surround yourself with people who are motivated and efficient!

8:30 ELIZABETH ASKS MAZIE “WHAT DO YOU DO TO BE PRODUCTIVE?”

  1. TIME IS MONEY. Once you Recognize that time is the only thing you can’t buy, you value your time more. You take care of it and use it wisely. All time should be purposeful.

  2. On Sunday, or any day that works for you, schedule your week. What’s most important? What MUST get done. Once you get everything you need to do in your schedule, you can make room for other things that are not as important.

  3. Start a daily list. Make it detailed- create sub items, so you know EXACTLY what you need to do, and how to do it. That way, you can cross items off your list and feel accomplished!

  4. Set a morning schedule. Wake up, pray and meditate, and then get ready. Do what works for you. Start your day with something positive!

  5. It’s important to be FLEXIBLE, but there is also a need for boundaries.

18:00 THE FINE LINE BETWEEN FLEXIBLE AND BOUNDARIES

When you love what you do, it’s easy to over work yourself! Sometimes it feels easier in the moment to say yes, but you need to figure out your boundaries. If you’re a hairdresser, work the hours you’re supposed to be working, and then when you’re not working, your clients know you’re off the clock. You need to know what’s healthy for you, and best for your life!

It’s also very important to have systems. When it comes to your team, everyone should know their roles and that way when items come up, you’re not worried about who is going to take care of the situation.

Workload is different than it used to be. There is SO much more to just buying color and doing hair. You have marketing, customer service, and all the things, and it’s crucial that you have systems in place to take care of everything!

Even if you don’t have the means right now, GET ORGANIZED!! If you can’t afford a team, find someone who can help 1 time and get everything in place, or do trade. Do whatever it takes to get efficient systems put in place.

There is strength and showing your flaws and asking for help!! Write down the problems and seek out those people that can provide assistance

28:00 MAZIE ASKS ELIZABETH “WHAT DO YOU DO TO BE PRODUCTIVE?”

  1. Routines are important. If you need to wake up earlier, DO IT. Look at the month and schedule big things- things that are NOT moving. For example, things like doctors appointments, client’s, trips, date night, etc. Figure out the non-negotiable and get those scheduled. Every Sunday, re-evaluate and plan for the next week.

  2. Every night- make a priority list in the order you need to get things done for the day. That way, when you wake up you know exactly where to start and what needs to get done. Make sure to write it DOWN! You always think you’re going to remember, but you don’t. After you have prioritized, make an “others” list. Things that aren’t as important, but need to get done. For example, things like: scheduling an appointment, listening to a podcast, etc. You can do these things while you’re driving or eating lunch, so you’re still being productive.

Let’s Wrap it Up!
