We have Dawn Bradley on the podcast this week!

This episode is all about how to have honest, open and direct communication with your clients, and how this will better your business and your income!

Dawn is an educator, speaker, stylist, and salon owner. Check out her “Rock Your Consultation” and “Rock Your Business” programs! She has also been a guest coach in our Workshop in a Box program!

Dawn’s most asked question revolves around COMMUNICATION, so that is what is going to be our focus of today’s podcast!

Dawn also has her own podcast “The Anxious Creative.” She talks all things business, and what it is like to be an entrepreneur in today’s age.

3:30 HOT SEAT

Dawn and her boyfriend are very different! They have been together for 6 years, and he is a minister, and she has lots of tattoos. They live together (don’t worry his church knows about it). They met online, and once she found out he was a pastor, she decided that he would be a good “friend”. Once they hung out, she unloaded her past and everything she had been shamed for, and instead of him judging her, he just reached out and said how proud he was of her for the woman she is becoming, and everything from there is history!

They are each other’s #1 one supporters and believe in each other! Both Elizabeth and Dawn believe in the power of relationships, and how much they truly impact your life!!

8:45 WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE TO SOMEONE WHO IS IN A RELATIONSHIP THAT IS NOT CURRENTLY BEING SUPPORTED, BUT THEY WANT TO STAY IN THE RELATIONSHIP?

DAWN: She says that when you get frustrated or feel unheard, make sure that you don’t attack the person you are trying to communicate with. Instead of getting frustrated, just work your ass off and then let the results be proof of how you’re feeling.

ELIZABETH: It’s important to bring your partner into your life, and find ways to make sure that they are on the same page as you, and then they can support you in your business and goals. Talk to your partner about your day, your “ah HAH” moments, just keep them in the know about your career.

It’s also important to have these conversations with a softness, and remember to have empathy.

29:20 THE ONE EXERCISE DAWN DOES WITH HER CLIENTS

She has them do a role reversal with her. She has them be the stylist and imagine them making promises to the client that they know cannot happen. They always appreciate the honesty from the beginning. A lot of times, we think that common sense things in our professions are common sense to everyone, and we leave out important information.

“NEGATIVITY CAN’T TOUCH ME”

The moment you decide that what other people say about you doesn’t matter, is the day you start living your life. Once you take better care of yourself, you don’t let other people determine your worth.

Thank you Dawn for your light and positivity.

We Hair Love You!!!
